Dedicated Educarers
Lisa Serene Goldman, founder of Flutterby Preschool, graduated from UCSC with a BA in Environmental Studies. She has also
completed a post graduate Early Childhood certification program called Lifeways at Rudolf Steiner College. For over a decade and a half, Lisa has shared her heart and energy as a preschool teacher and private childcare provider. Her patience, love, dedication, and commitment for childcare are immense. Lisa has been trained extensively by a Waldorf kindergarten teacher which provided hands on teaching
experience. With the combination of ECE training from Cabrillo College, UCSC, Rudolf Steiner College, LifeLab, teaching experience, and LifeWays Early Childhood Certification, Lisa will continue providing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate space in which the children may thrive. To Lisa, each child is a unique and wonderful spirit whom she honors and respects for being.
Flutterby Offerings
At Flutterby, the children are met with loving kindness as we move through the seasons together. We offer a safe and loving space and curriculum which supports the children’s primary work, their play. Our days are full of organic gardening, flowers, music, dance, singing, laughter, wonder, nourishment, nature, art, storytelling and a warm, loving home-like environment. In addition, we offer weekly music concerts by a beloved guitar teacher. Our teachers are experienced early childhood professionals, each with unique gifts to share.

In our Flutterby home, every child has a loving place. Our group is a community. The children create family like friendships throughout a supportive day. With a mixed age group, the children can experience the loving nurturing of older kids, while the elders grow into a leadership role. Every stage of development is not only supported, but genuinely celebrated as well!
